Arthur Henry Schroot of Sayler Park, passed away at his home on September 12, 2023, at the age of 90. He was born on October 18, 1932, in Cincinnati to Ferd and Helen (nee Mauch) Schroot. After high school he went to work as a milkman for a year and decided to join the Marines. He served during the Korean War serving from 1950 to 1954. After his discharge he went to surprise his sister at a bar and that was the evening he met the love of his life Roselle Dawson. He married her soon after and Arthur adored the ground that she walked on and soon they were blessed with three children: Robin, Robert, & Steven. Arthur joined the Cincinnati Fire Department in 1955 where he retired. He could never be still and was always working. In his free time, he was a Civil war enthusiast, gardener and enjoyed family gatherings. He was also an active parishioner of St. Al's on the Ohio.
Preceded in death by his wife Roselle Ruth (Dawson) Schroot; son: Steven Schroot; daughter: Robin (Gregg) Rust; Siblings: Ferdinand Schroot, Marilyn Humbert & JoAnn West.
Survivors include his son: Robert Schroot; grandchildren: Robert II Schroot, Chelsea Schroot, Tiffany, Andrea & Stevie Rae Schroot, Joshua (Leslie) Rust, Ryan (Cres) Rust, Sarah (Jason) Crider, Stephanie (Lance) Schickling; great grandchildren: Kylie, Khloe, Ben, Theodore "Teddy", Tucker, Broghan & Rogue; and daughter-in-law: Raeann Schroot and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Visitation will be at Brater Winter Funeral Home, 138 Monitor Ave., Sayler Park, OH on Monday, September 25, 2023, from 10am to 11 am. Mass at St. Aloysius on the Ohio will follow at 11:30am. Fr. Bryan Rief will be officiating. Burial to follow at Crown Hill Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the US Marines and the Harrison Honor Guard.
