Alfred "Bud" Baker

Alfred "Bud" Baker, of West Harrison, went on to meet his heavenly father on April 27, 2023, at the age of 78. He was born on July 10, 1944, in Oelwein, Iowa to Alfred and Virginia (nee Copenhaver) Baker. On August 14, 1965, Bud married his soulmate Sheila Paulsen and together they were blessed with four boys: Ken, Jeff, Craig, and Jay. Bud loved the outdoors. Bud was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed gardening and working in his yard; anything that allowed him to be outside enjoying God's beautiful creation.  Bud was also a strong man of faith. He loved his wife and family more than anything in the world. One memory the family will always think of was how Bud could make a "mean batch of ribs." 

Those left to cherish those memories are his loving wife: Sheila Baker; devoted sons: Ken (Julie) Baker, Jeff (Hayley) Baker, Craig (Ali) Baker, and Jay Baker; beloved grandchildren: Chloe, Jonah, Lily, Bailey, Barrett, Olivia, Flora, Lila, and Colby Baker; great granddaughter: Ava Baker; siblings: Beverly Hansen and Bobby Baker. 
Bud was preceded in death by his parents: Alfred and Virginia Baker; and brother: John Baker.

Visitation will be held at Brater Winter Funeral Home, 201 S. Vine St., Harrison, Ohio on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, from 1:00 pm until the time of memorial service at 2:30 pm with John Calabreeze officiating.  Immediately following the service Military Honors will be provided by the US Navy.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation in Bud's memory to God's Great Outdoors. A funeral home representative will be available to assist you with your donation during the services.
