Richard Munyon Obituary
Richard L. Munyon Sr. of West Harrison, Indiana, passed away November 5, 2018 at the age of 79. He was born on May 9, 1939 in Portsmouth, Ohio to Clarence and Katherine (nee Graf) Munyon. Richard was part of the Scioto Valley Racing Club in Portsmouth, where he enjoyed racing. Richard then married Janice Born on January 19, 1962 and together they were blessed with five beautiful children. Richard was a science & math teacher at Portsmouth High School, until he landed a job at Procter & Gamble as a Research Chemist where he worked for 28 years. In his free time, Richard enjoyed taking pictures and riding motorcycle. He was also a child at heart and loved when Halloween and Christmas rolled around, because he could be just like one of the kids. Richard was also very caring and romantic, he saw every occasion as a chance to give his loving wife flowers and make her day just a little bit brighter.
Survived by his loving wife: Janice (nee Born) Munyon; cherished children: Therese "Teri" (Jeff) Rolfes, Richard Jr. (Sandy) Munyon, Sean (Christy) Munyon, Erin (Mark) Orr, and Brian Munyon; beloved grandchildren: Eric & Chris Rolfes, Amanda, Jeremy, Gabriel, & Dominic Munyon, Sean Jr., Kevin, Samantha, & Evalyn Munyon, Holley Adkins, and Jessica Orr; and his sister: Patricia (Allen) Lewis.
Richard was preceeded in death by his parents: Clarence and Katherine (nee Graf) Munyon; and his brother: William Munyon.
Visitation will be held Thursday, November 8, 2018 at Brater Winter Funeral Home from 5:00 PM till 7:00 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, November 9, 2018 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church at 11:00 AM.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Parkinson's Foundation, or National Multiple Sclerosis Society. You may mail your donations to the funeral home or bring your donation at the time of the visitation and a funeral home representative will be able to help you.
