Mary Messerschmidt Obituary
Mary Messerschmidt, of Harrison, Ohio passed away March 12, 2019 at the age of 77. Mary was born to Thomas and Margaret (nee Getz) Nowlin on May 2, 1941 in Harrison, Ohio. She then married Carl O "Jake" Messerschmidt on October 17, 1964 and together they were blessed with four children. Mary enjoyed sports. She was a coach for softball and baseball for many years. She loved attending her children and grandchildren's sporting events and never missed a game. She also attended dance recitals and loved going to her grandchildren's birthday parties. Mary enjoyed spending time with her family.
Mary is preceded in death by her husband: Carl "Jake" Messerschmidt in 1998; her parents: Thomas and Margaret Nowlin; and her siblings: Leonard (Joyce) Nowlin, Catherine (Lester) Beardsley, Norma McConnell, Walter Nowlin, Joseph Nowlin, Thomas Nowlin Jr., and Elda Richards; and her brother-in-law: Richard Helms.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children: Susan (Kevin) Radcliffe, Jerry Messerschmidt, Roger (Becky) Messerschmidt, and Sherry "Punky" (Kevin Birkofer) Kater; her beloved grandchildren: Stacey (Eric) Ruwe, Daniel (Joani) Radcliffe, Briana Pennington, Danielle Messerschmidt, Bella Messerschmidt, and Colin Nichols; her great-grandchildren: Keiran & Connor Ruwe, and Kaydence Pennington; her sister: Florence Helms; her sister-in-laws: Rita Alig, Annie Weekly, and June Nowlin; and her brother-in-law: John Richards. As well as many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held March 15, 2019 at Brater Winter Funeral Home, 201 S. Vine St., Harrison, Ohio) from 11:00AM until the time of the funeral service at 1:00PM. Burial to follow at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Harrison Mayor's Fund. You may bring to the visitation or funeral and give to a funeral home representative. If you are unable to attend please mail your donation to the funeral home and they will notify the family of your donation.
