Garrett Stone Obituary

We are sad to announce the passing of Garrett William "Bill" Stone, age 92 of Delhi, on June 11, 2019. Bill was born on October 9, 1926 in McConnellsville, NY to Albert Charles and Anna LaVerne (nee Stone) Stone. He served in the US Army from 1945 to 1947. He married Elsa Wheeler on July 28, 1951 and they were blessed with four children: Douglas, Gary, Terri and Michael. Bill loved the outdoors. He shared his love with his children by taking them canoeing, camping, hunting, and working in the garden. This is a love that has been passed on to his grandchildren as well. Bill like to eat chocolate cake and always had to have his coffee. He was a history buff and also enjoyed traveling. Bill traveled around the world from his "government issued" trip to the Philippines, and his personal trips to Egypt, Peru, and Alaska. He enjoyed taking in the culture. Bill's greatest love was his family and his faith.

Bill was preceded in death by his son: Gary Stone; parents: Albert Charles and Anna LaVerne Stone; siblings: Harold, Albert C, Jr., Stone and Grace Reed.

Those left to cherish Bill's memory and carry on his legacy are his loving wife Elsa Stone; beloved children: Douglas (Kathleen) Stone, Terri (Bruce) Partin, Michael (Loree) Stone; Daughter-in-law: Helene (Terry Lee) Stone-Adkins; wonderful grandchildren: Kimberly (Bill) Kopfman, Matthew (Shannon) Stone, Rachel (Eric) Mulanda, Joshua (Amy) Stone, David (Hannah) Stone, Rebekah (Jeff) Wagner, Sarah Stone, Hannah Stone, Grant & Leah Partin, Shannon (Neil) Gibson, Charity (Brent) Spiese and Caleb Stone; Great Grandchildren: Eliana & Aurelia Kopfman, Scarlett & Harrison Stone, Carter & Hudson Mulanda, Isaac & Weston Stone, Julia & Levi Stone, Josphine Hooker, and Noelle Spiese.
