Charles William "Bill" Essert, Resident of West Harrison, IN, passed away on November 24, 2017 at the age of 80. He was born on August 23, 1937 to Charles and Bertha (nee Loos) Essert. Bill was a Truck Driver all of his life. He enjoyed working in his garden, good western Movies and Star Trek. Bill also had a sweet spot for Peeps. The nurses at Woodland Hills Care Center enjoyed his wonderful personality and his contagious smile and laugh.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife Marjorie (nee Barker) Essert; son: Mark Essert, Son-in-law Mark McClure; brother: John Essert; sister Bertha Lee Miller; parents: Charles and Bertha Essert; brother-in-laws: Jerry Schnieders and Joe Miller.
Survivors are his loving children: Jenny Saggus, Jeff (Tammy) Essert, Tonja McClure, Lisa (Jeff) Gerhardt, Billie Jo (Todd) Miller, and Casey (Derek) Kuhlman; Daughter-in-law: Brigid Essert; Grandchildren: Emily & Justin Essert, Heather Beighley, Jessica Larmann, Anthony Essert, Kelly Raines, Morgan, Katelin, Danni McClure, Lucas, Nicholas & Olivia Gerhardt, Baron & Cole Miller, Lillian & Lincoln Kuhlman; 7 great grandchildren; Dear siblings: Charlotte Mae (Ron) Page, Carolyn (Bill) Cunningham, Elaine Schnieders; Earl (Donna) Essert. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Wed., Nov. 29, 2017 from 11 AM until the funeral at 1 PM in Brater Winter Funeral Home, 201 S. Vine St., Harrison, OH 45030. Graveside services to follow at Glen Haven Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the funeral home or family to defray the funeral costs.
