Alta Spaw Obituary
Alta (nee Dye) Spaw, age 86, of Lawrenceburg, IN, passed away March 19, 2018. She was born to Ernest Lee and Flonnie (nee Spaw) Dye on October 10, 1931 in Pulaski County, KY. She had one sister: Alma M. Owens and 5 brothers: Rosco M., Marvin A. "Bill", Loren T, Bernell and Lester Dye. She married Andrew "Jim" Spaw on September 19, 1953 and together they had three Daughters: Donna, Dianne, and the late Andrea.
Alta was a member of the First Baptist Church of Harrison and was a very social person. She loved to play cards with her friends, especially euchre. Alta was an avid baker and enjoyed baking pies and cakes whether somebody would eat them or not. She loved flowers and buying and sharing gifts with those she loved. She was also a fan of the Cincinnati Reds and baseball was the only thing she watched on television.
She is preceded in death by her husband Jim Spaw (3/9/2018) and infant daughter: Andrea Beth Spaw; her parents: Ernest Lee and Flonnie Dye; and 5 Brothers: Rosco M., Marvin A. "Bill", Loren T, Bernell and Lester Dye.
Those who are left to remember the wonderful memories they had with Alta include her dear daughters: Donna (Nolan) Tatum, and Dianne (Jim) Williams; and 3 cherished grandchildren: Rachel Williams, Joe Tatum, and Jamie Williams; and loving sister: Alma M. Owens.
DUE TO WEATHER CONDITIONS VISITATION DATES HAVE CHANGED Friends and family are welcome to attend the visitation on Monday March 26, 2018, from 10 AM to 12:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of Harrison Ohio, 119 Hill Street, Harrison, OH 45030. The funeral service will follow at noon. Burial will be held at Gibson Cemetery, Bright, IN.
Memorial contributions in Alta's honor can be made out to the First Baptist Church of Harrison Ohio. You may bring your donation to the visitation and a funeral home representative will help you.
