Richard Scheurer Obituary

Richard E. Sr. "Dick" Scheurer, Resident of Harrison, Ohio passed away on October 20, 2017 at the age of 81. He was born in Canton, Ohio on February 13, 1936 to Frederick E. and Marie (nee Pomesky) Scheurer. He married Mary Stadtmiller on January 19, 1963 and they were blessed with three children: Richard Jr., Melinda and Elizabeth. Dick was a Mechanical Engineer at University of Cincinnati. He was a member of the Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus. Enjoyed model trains and being active in the Whitewater Valley Rail Road. Dick was known to not travel the same route twice when traveling. He had a love of the Boy Scouts and shared that with his grandsons.

Those who will cherish his memory is his loving wife Mary (nee Stadtmiller) Scheurer; devoted children: Richard E. (Maureen) Scheurer Jr., Melinda K. (Dennis) Caldwell, Elizabeth A. (James "Jim") Hancock; Cherished grandchildren: Stephanie & Sarah Scheurer, Meredith, Scott & Nathaniel Caldwell, & Victoria Hancock; Beloved Siblings: Barbara Nieporte, Linda Gordon, Patricia "Pat" Bennett, John (Nancymae) Scheurer, & Margaret Scheurer.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Frederick and Marie (nee Pomesky) Scheurer, infant sister Rose Scheurer, and Brother in laws: Robert Nieporte and Donald Bennett.

Visitation will be on Monday, October 23, 2017 from 5 PM to 8 PM with a Rosary at 7:30 PM followed by a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus Presentation at Brater Winter Funeral Home, 201 S. Vine St., Harrison, OH 45030.

Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at 11 AM in the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Harrison, OH.

In Lieu of flowers memorials to the St. John the Baptist (Future Home Building Fund) or Knights of Columbus (for Coats for Kids). You may bring your donations to the visitation or the Mass and give to a funeral home representative. They will notify the family and forward donations to the selected Charity.
