Matthew Schemer, passed away on March 22, 2017 in a car accident at the age of 35. Life long resident of Bright, Indiana.
Matt was born the 3rd son of Debbie (nee Rauen) and Phil Schemer on July 14, 1981 in Cincinnati, Ohio. His older brothers Tommy and Jeff welcomed him home and a few years later Matt became the big brother of Greg. The boys were like any other boys growing up they loved playing outside and hanging out together. Matt loved being outdoors. He enjoyed horseshoes, floating down the river, Canoeing, Snow skiing, spending time at the Red River Gorge and most of all Fishing. He was always so patient with taking his little princess Skylah fishing and his "nieces and nephews". Matt wasn't afraid of anything and lived life to the fullest each day.
Matt was preceded in death by his two older brothers Tommy and Jeff Schemer in 1997 and his grandfather Jack Rauen in 2016 and cousins Chaz McDaniel and Landon Imel.
Those whose memory Matt lives on are his parents: Debbie and Phil; brother: Greg (Jackie Penning) Schemer; cherished daughter Skylah Dae "Princess" Schemer; his girlfriend and Skylah's mom Jodi Moore and her parents: Angie & Tracy Moore; dear grandparents: Doris and Joe Schemer and Virginia "Ginny" Rauen; Aunts and Uncles: Diane "Godmother" (Jim) Lind, Donna (Lou) Machuca, Nancy (Keven) Ostmeyer, Jack "Godfather" (Connie) Rauen, Mike (Darcy) Rauen, Tom (Conna) Rauen, Bev Rauen, Debbie Rauen; Cousins: Sherri and Scott Imel, Andre Rauen, Mike and Kaity Rauen, Mark Rauen, Amy Rauen, Malisa Rauen, Greg Rauen, Scott and Kallie Rauen, Tracy Rauen, Jason Lind, Jennifer and Greg Machuca - Stubleski, Stephen and Lauren Lind, John and Erica Machuca, Mike and Tiffany Lind, Kathy Lind, Brian and Julie Machuca, Jake Ostmeyer. Also survived by many other extended family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 31, 2017 from 1 PM until 5:15 PM at Brater Winter Funeral Home, 201 S. Vine St., Harrison, OH 45030. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 6 PM at St. John the Baptist, corner of Hill and Park, Harrison, OH. Burial of cremains will take place at Gibson Cemetery at a future date.
