Mark McClure Obituary
Mark Eugene "Dick" McClure, husband, father, protector, friend, passed away on May 4th, 2016 at the age of 58. He loved his family more than words can express. He was passionate about his farm and worked tirelessly in order to provide for all of his girls. Mark's sharp sense of humor made all who encountered him feel at ease. He never met a stranger.
Always a Reds fan, he recently received a call from Ken Griffey Sr. and was thrilled. He had his own fashion sense, an affinity for Andy Griffith re-runs, playing cards and saving everything for a "rainy day." These are the things that made his family shake their heads and laugh. Most importantly he was a kind and decent man that left this world a better place.
He fought the good fight against cancer for as long as he could and taught all of us a lesson in dignity. Now he is pain free and at peace. He will always be missed but his legacy will live on and remain strong.
Mark retired from John R. Jurgensen after 39 years.
He leaves his devoted and loving wife of 25 years Tonja (nee Essert). Loving father of Morgan (Stephen) Bischoff, Katelin, Danni and step daughter Kelly Raines. Devoted son of the late Eugene and Janice McClure (nee Pancoast). Dear brother of Terrie (late Jerry) Buys, Tom (Diane) McClure, Patty (John) Little, Brad (Sandy) McClure, and Scot (Ronni) McClure; Also survived by step granddaughter, Bekah and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life gathering for Mark on Sunday, May 8, 2016 from 2pm-6pm at Bright Christian Church, Bright Indiana. Funeral services will be on Monday, 11:00am at Bright Christian Church. Burial will follow at St. Martin's Cemetery, Yorkville, IN.
The McClure family would like to thank everyone for all of the love and support they have received over the past year with Mark's illness. They ask that in lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family to help defray medical expenses. A funeral home representative will be able to handle the donation during the visitation and before the services.
