Eugene Lobenstein Obituary

Eugene Emmert, age 78, resident of St. Leon Indiana passed away at Margaret Mary Hospital on Wednesday, July 27, 2016. He was born in St. Leon Indiana on April 25, 1938 to Emmert & Marcella (nee Alig) Lobenstein. Gene was baptized into the Catholic faith as a young child and continued his faith in the catholic church his entire life as a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church. On April 25, 1951 he married Anna Mae Ihle, and they were blessed with 3 children: Jeff, Tina & Kim. Gene was a lifelong farmer, member of Tailgate Market (Cincinnati) and loved working on the farm, driving his golf cart all around and spending time with his wife and family.
Those surviving who will honor his memory are his loving wife of 57 years: Anna Mae (nee Ihle); devoted children: Jeff Lobenstein, Tina Lobenstein & Kim (Jerry) Callahan; dear grandchildren: Stephanie (Jeremy) Smith, Jessica (Cory) Mobley, Jeremy (Amy) Lobenstein, Eric (McKenzie Epling) Callahan & Ryan Callahan; loving great grandchildren: Wyatt & Landon Smith, Colton Mobley, & Easton & Emmett Lobenstein; dear sisters: Donna Huffman & Joann (Lou) Schapker and many nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Emmett & Marcella; and brother Leroy Lobenstein.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, August 2, 2016 from 11AM until the time of mass at 1PM at the All Saints Parish -St. Joseph's Campus, 7536 Church Lane, West Harrison, Indiana 47060. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sunman Life Squad, St. Leon Volunteer Fire Department or the All Saints Parish through the funeral home.
