Elmer Stamm Obituary
Elmer Stamm passed away on May 7, 2018 at the age of 85. He was a resident of Bright for half the year and Palm Harbor, FL for the other half. He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on Feb. 12, 1933 to Julius and Lorena (nee Voelker) Stamm. He married Julia Doyle on Jan. 19, 1952 and they were blessed with 5 children: Darya, Darrell, Darlene, Russell, & Angie. Elmer worked for the Cincinnati Fire Department for many years before he retired. He was also a skilled bricklayer. Elmer spent much of his free time golfing, gardening and making jewelry. In his younger years he was on bowling and softball teams with other fireman. He hated the cold and loved living in Florida.
Elmer was preceded in death by his parents, wife Julia Stamm, and 2 siblings: Julius "Jule" Stamm and Elizabeth "Betty" Gutmann.
Those left to cherish his memory are his children: Darya (Mike) Ramirez, Darrell (Tracy) Stamm, Darlene Schlemmer, Russell (Sonya) Stamm, and Anna "Angie" (Mike) Hamonds; grandchildren: Andrew (Krisam) Wright, Justin Wright, Darrell Stamm, Daniel (Holly) Stamm, Nicole Stamm, Anthony Stamm, Ashley Newman, Amber (Justin) Church, Kendall Schlemmer, Kyle (Jaimee) Schlemmer, Craig Schlemmer, Laura Stamm, Adam Stamm, Benjamin Peters, Kelly Hamonds, and Kelsey Hamonds; 19 great grandchildren; and sister-in-law: Eileen Murphy.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 17, 2018 from 6 to 8 PM and Friday, May 18, 2018 from 10 AM until the time of the funeral service at 11 AM at Brater Winter Funeral Home, 201 S. Vine St., Harrison, OH 45030. Pastor Bud Jones to officiate. Burial to follow at Arlington Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers memorials to Alzheimer's Association, 644 Linn St., Cincinnati, OH 45203 or Our Hospice at 2626 17th St., Columbus, IN 47201. You can mail your memorial directly to the organization and they will notify the family of your generous donation.
