Corena Steinmetz Obituary
Corena Ann (nee Freeman) Steinmetz, Resident of Harrison, passed away on February 9, 2018, at the age of 86.
She was born in Irvine, KY on February 27, 1931 to Virgil Freeman and Bertha (Singleton) Freeman. Corena married Clarence Steinmetz on September 5, 1953 and they were blessed with two children Shirley and Robert. She enjoyed Embroidery, reading, gardening, walking in the park, baking (pies, cakes), canning. Corena was a member at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church for many years.
Those left to cherish her memory are her devoted husband Clarence, beloved children: Shirley (Ron) Lankert, Robert Steinmetz; Cherished Grandchildren: Russell (Kate) Shockley, Sandra (Rob) Tyler, Kevin Steinmetz, Angela (David) Olding and step grandchildren: Kristopher (Kuniko) Lankert and Ronnie Lankert; Great Grandchildren (Living): Cole, Jacob, and Grace Shockley, Audrey and Maxwell Tyler, Abigail Olding; step grandchildren: Alexandria and Dallas Lankert. Also survived by her Siblings: Bonnie Darlene Estes, Elbert Freeman.
Corena was preceded in death by her parents: Virgil and Bertha Freeman, daughter-in-law: Darlene Steinmetz; sibling: Patty Freeman and Carlie Freeman Baker.
Visitation will be on Sunday, February 11, 2018 from 4 PM to 7 PM at Brater Winter Funeral Home, 201 S. Vine St. Harrison. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM on Monday, February 12, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church 110 North Hill Street Harrison, Ohio 45030, with burial to follow at St. John The Baptist Catholic Cemetery in Harrison, OH.
Memorials may be made to the St. John Building Fund. You may bring your donation to the visitation or Mass and give to a funeral home representative. If you are unable to attend mail your donation to the funeral home and they will notify the family and forward your donation to the church.
