Clell G. Ballew, resident of Guilford, IN, passed away on September 28, 2017 at the age of 75. He was born on May 22, 1942 in Fork Ridge, TN to James and Mildred Ballew. He married his wife, Anita M. (nee Flory) on July 8, 1975 and was blessed with two children; Jessica and Benjamin. Clell enjoyed nature and outdoors so much he was a chief park ranger for the Hamilton County Park District. Clell later did construction and ran his own drywall business. He often went trout fishing in the Great Smoky Mountains and also enjoyed the beaches of South Carolina. He loved camping, hiking, and animals, caring for many cats, birds, and deer over the years. He spent hours canning the tomatoes and pickles from his garden, and never failed to deliver them to anyone who asked.
Everyone who knew Clell knew him as a generous and sincere soul. Those who will miss him most are his loving wife, Anita M. (nee Flory) Ballew; devoted children, Jessica (Anthony) Stieritz and Benjamin (Michelle) Ballew; cherished grandchildren: Luke, Jonah, and Sebastian Stieritz, and William Ballew; and beloved siblings: Ron, Charles (Elaine), Jerald (Melody), and Jamie (Tami) Ballew, Patricia (Buford) Goins, and Debra (Thomas) Barker.
Clell is preceded in death by his parents, and sister-in-law Kathryn.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 7, 2017 in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM. Mass of Christian Burial will be held following the visitation at 10:30 AM in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Harrison, with Fr. Jeffrey Kemper officiating.
Memorials may be made to Cooperative for Education in Cincinnati through the funeral home. You may bring your donation to the visitation or funeral mass and give to a funeral home representative.
