Carolyn Sue Ferguson

Carolyn Sue (nee Durbin), age 66, resident of Harrison Ohio passed away peacefully in her home on Tuesday, July 26, 2016. She was the daughter of Garland Durbin & Helen (nee Osten) Green and was born in Lexington, Kentucky on December 6, 1949. Carolyn had 4 siblings: Garland Jr., Bill, John & Sheila. She began dating O'dell Ferguson in 1977 while she was working at Fischer Body in Hamilton Ohio, and on June 28, 1985 they were married. Carolyn then began to work at Fernald as a forklift operator & was on the spill containment crew. She obtained her CDL license and loved working in a "man's world". She was content knowing that she could do nearly everything that a man could do. After leaving Fernald after 8-10 years she began working as an air-traffic controller here in Harrison at the small airport near the high school. Carolyn was a pool shark and loved going places and winning lots of money. She loved her husband and her family and all the time they spent together. Most people would agree that she was the happiest when she and O'dell were working on building, remodeling, and restoring old cars. Carolyn did everything except the painting. She even mastered the craft of etching glass that can be seen on their "lipstick" red Ford.
Those surviving who will honor her memory include her loving husband: O'dell Ferguson; devoted children: Eddie (Lisa) Stanley, Angel (Scott) Meek, Todd (Monica) Stanley, Chris (Todd) Bartholomew, & Naomi (Kyle) O'Conner; 12 grandchildren: 5 great grandchildren; and siblings: Garland (Debbie) Durbin Jr., Alfred Durbin, Sherry Durbin, Bill (Pam) Green, & John (Sheila) Green.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Garland Durbin Sr. & Ralph & Helen (nee Osten) Green; sister: Rebecca Durbin, and step-sister: Sheila Green.
Visitation will be on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at the Brater-Winter Funeral Home, 201 S. Vine St., Harrison Ohio from 4:00 PM until the time of funeral service at 6:00 PM. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Cincinnati through the funeral home, by bringing your donation to the visitation/service or by mailing your donation directly to the funeral home.
